July 1: NOT UPDATED Summer Camp Activity Sign-up Server is down. Here is Guidance for signing up. Council says Scouts who selected Back to Back Aquatics MUST make a different choice -- they currently are not allowing back to back aquatics badges. Scoutmaster is appealing. Contingency plan -- you can try to sign up at camp on Sunday night -- but we can no longer confirm this will work.

June 12: 2010 Jamboree Application is now available. This event celebrates 100 years of Scouting in America. It is a Council-organized activity -- but if enough of the Troop goes, we have enough numbers to have our own Troop together at Jamboree! Truly a once in lifetime event. Jamboree Website.

June 9: A big THANK YOU to the adult leaders and their families who helped to make this trip possible: Dan Brady, Mike Cappel, Nathan Thiesing, Gary Hummel, Tom Mattice, and Wesley Young. A very special thanks to Marty Smith, our own personal Gettysburg Guide, for making this particularly memorable. July 3 -- Troop Meeting MOVED to NORTHWESTWAY PARK for Monday -- near shelter. Whitewater Permission Slips and Waivers now available. July 2 -- Oh MY! Have we got UPDATES!!!! Really IMPORTANT Updates! We are now NUMBER ONE in Google Search of "Troop 514." WHITEWATER HIGH ADVENTURE details now available -- Limit 20 -- Due July 13. This looks to be a SENSATIONAL OUTING. (Many thanks to Mr. Watson for lining this up.) July 7 Troop meeting moved to Northwestway Park. Also, Packing Tips for First Year Parents will be presented during this meeting. July 9 -- All Scouts looking to earn aquatics merit badges have a special pre-req session at the Weston subdivision pool, Wednesday at 7pm prompt. This 1 1/2 - 2 hours can save 3-5 hours of effort at summer camp. (Thanks to Mr/Mrs. Sanders, Mr. Lang for this help). Highly recommended, but can be done at summer camp. Summer Camp Preparation Documents (distributed at Court of Honor) are on-line. This year, as part of our departure to Summer Camp, Scouts and families are encouraged to attend 9am mass at St. Monica (July 13) as we'll be asking for blessing for our summer camping Scouts. Afterwards we will all meet at Northwestway Park to load the trailers and enjoy a departure brunch organized by several Scout parents. (THANK YOU!)
